The château

About usOur family has been making wine in Amboise for centuries.

Montdomaine is Frédéric Plou’s dream come true. Born into a family that has been making wine for 500 years, Frédéric Plou and his wife Louisa took over Château de Montdomaine in 2015. Since then, they’ve worked tirelessly to bring this historic estate and its vineyards, nestled in the heart of the Loire valley, to life.

01Our Philosophy

To listen to and follow nature in order to produce wines that bring the very best of our unique terroir into each and every bottle.

02Our know how

We base our approach upon traditional methods and focus on sustainable practices that can be maintained going forward. We have always worked with respect to nature and 2020 sees the domaine take its first steps towards formal organic certification.

03Our future

We recognise that it is our duty to be completely transparent with our practices and to work with integrity. We also realise that our future depends upon us adopting a pragmatic, natural approach that is sustainable.
